“Kayako Saeki is my favorite horror villain and favorite character of all time. I think her character has a lot of room for development and I wish The Grudge films focused more on her back story than her victims.”

“When I was younger, one of my friends told me about ‘The Grudge’, and he managed to scare me so much I made a vow never to watch it. I did years later, and was very disappointed: he managed to scare me, but the movie didn’t.”

“The first time I saw The Grudge, I was terrified out of my mind for weeks on end, to the point I had night terrors and a hysterical breakdown about it. It was prolonged by my siblings doing her wretched breathing as loud as possible while I was attempting to sleep. Since then, I have avoided anything to do with the series, even though I love horror films in general.”

“The Grudge is one of the scarier and more interesting movies for me. Not only is the movie itself scary but the story behind it adds another level of horror.”

“I’m actually afraid of attics in homes that had previous owners because of The Grudge. You don’t know what could’ve happened up there or what was stowed up there before you got there.”

“The grudge is the only movie that actually truly scared me. The way she crawled and was portrayed made me cringe. Last time I watched it was 4 years ago and I couldn’t sleep alone for 8 whole months! Still to this day I can’t stand watching the commercial or even looking at pictures.”

“I normally hate ghost stories. The idea that dying gives you superpowers is stupid. But I LOVED “The Grudge” because it’s not a dead person, but an unstoppable force of nature.”

“When i was a lot younger, i remember seeing the trailer for The Grudge on TV in broad daylight, there was a small clip of the kid meowing, and for some reason it scared the hell out of me. i don’t remember seeing anything in my life that freaked me out more than that.”

“After seeing The Grudge in the theatre, I was physically unable to look under my covers for months because of the scene in the sister’s apartment. To this day I occasionally have anxiety about it.”

"The Japanese version of The Grudge will always be one of the first Asian Horror films I recommend. It never fails to creep people out. It’s one of my favorites."

“I love horror movies. I have since I was a kid. And while some keep me scared, I still love them and get over it and watch them again. But the only movie that ever fucked with me was The Grudge. I had nightmares for a month straight. I was too afraid to look at windows or anything reflective. I’ve seen it once in theaters and years later I will have a nightmare now and then about those eyes. I don’t even want the mod to use any images from the movie for this post. It gets to me too much..”
