“As a sufferer of sleep paralysis, with hallucinogenic episodes so severe I’ve sworn I’ve been to Hell before, Jacob’s Ladder is a film that illustrates my own experiences in an unsure, frightening state of mind while being helpless, all too perfectly. While I enjoy the film, it strikes a very deep rooted, repressed chord of fear. For a few weeks, like Jacob, I was convinced something was following me. I was half convinced demons were real.”
