“I’ve read the book and am aware that Carrie was a teen, however, I believe when bringing her character to film, the role should be reserved for adult actresses (like 25+). Chloe Moretz’s youthful baby-face and lack of life experience (not saying she’s immature, but she was only 15/16 at the time, still very new to the world) could not portray the emotions needed to play such a tortured soul. The themes/content in Carrie are too heavy for actual teens to convey, and I’m saying this as a teen too.”

“I hated how everyone in the Carrie remake looked like they had just walked off a modeling shoot onto the set. At least the original had some unique, definable looks for each of the characters, making them a lot more memorable. I still remember every mannerism from the chubby girl with the big glasses (Helen) and the way Tina was such a dork and wore her baseball cap everywhere. Don’t remember zip about any of the supporting characters in the remake.”

“Everyone keeps slating the Carrie remake but I love it. It’s a much better adaptation of the book in my opinion than the original.”

“I have a lot of guy friends, and I got my period when I was pretty young. They asked what was going on and my explanation started with “you know the first scene in ‘Carrie’?” It was the most awkward and hilarious experience of my life so far, and it’s even funnier when you watch The IT Crowd.”

“I had never seen the original Carrie before, and usually with horror movies, I like seeing the originals before I see the remakes. My mom dragged me to the new Carrie though, and I HATED it. It stressed me out, and I just hate thinking about it. I’m sure the original is great, most of the originals are much better than the remakes, but for now I don’t think I can stomach it again for a while.”

“people need to stop moaning about the new Carrie being too much like the original. it’s supposed to be similar because it’s the same story!”

"Today I watched Carrie for the first time, and I must say that felt bad for Carrie cause of all the bullying and what her mom did to get. Honestly, if I had her "power" I would do the same(ish) thing, which is kill the ones that are mean to me, but I would keep the nice people alive."

“People say the new Carrie is a remake of the old movie but how do we not know it’s not a new adaptation of the book and not the movie?”
Actually it is supposed to be an adaptation of the book

“I don’t understand why people seem to like the Carrie remake because it makes Carrie seem more human and sympathetic and yet they hate Rob Zombie’s Halloween for doing the exact same thing to Michael Myers.”

“The Carrie remake made me cry so many times. I could relate to her in the sense of how she was bullied at school and had no friends. It was an amazing film and I could watch it a hundred times over.”

“If Chloe wasn’t in it, nobody would have liked the Carrie remake. It was shit. I’m not saying that her performance made the movie great, I’m saying viewers let their personal feelings for her impact their opinion of the film. With or without her, it was shit.”

“Carrie 2002 was the stupidest remake I have ever seen. I hate how Carrie lived in the end. That’s not how it was in the book!”
