“As someone who has spent their entire life struggling with mental illness and anxiety, the only horror movies that really upset me are ones like Magic Magic and Black Swan. I always feel so terrible for the protagonists. Having your own brain betray you is such an ugly, scary thing - and it’s even worse when no-one around you is willing or able to help.”
"I know it’s not really a horror film (more of a psychological thriller) but Black Swan creeped me out to the point that I actually stopped picking at my hangnails because of that scene where Nina rips off half of the skin on her finger."
“I watch the last few minutes of Black Swan before I go to the gym for motivation. I know it’s weird but Nina died to achieve perfection, it makes me think about what i would do. “Perfection” from the soundtrack is the song I listen to while doing cardio workouts.”
“Black Swan is by far my favorite psychological thriller. Sometimes I feel as though I have a lot in common with Nina.”
“I eat shrooms whilst watching Black Swan. Now, I don’t take any drugs.”
"Black Swan is hugely derivative. It’s essentially Perfect Blue inter spliced with clips of Suspiria and Opera, and it deserved no where near the amount of praise it received."
“The only part of Black Swan that made me cringe was the part when she pulled part of the skin of her finger off.”
“Black Swan isn’t considered a horror movie, but I think it should be.”
“I can sit through the bloodiest movie you give me and not even cringe, but psychological horror movies terrify me beyond reason.”
“I was really looking forward to watching Black Swan, since I heard so many rave reviews about it. But I didn’t get it. Like, it never explained anything, and even the lesbo scene ended up being fake. I was really disappointed.”
“Mila Kunis was great in Black Swan! She should do some more horror.”
