“Tv series “Lost” is not consider a horror but moments of it scared me for life.”
“After watch the Hostel movies, it made me terrified to go to anywhere near Slovokia. The film did a real good job convincing me that something like that is real.”
“I watched Begotten under the premise that it would be seriously deep, interesting and horrific all in one. I was disappointed. The awkwardly high contrasted art styling made me cringe and it just stopped being interesting because of that, it seemed way too pretentious.”
“You know what’s fun? When watching a horror movie, during the “let’s just throw as much gore as possible at the screen” parts, picture the Nostalgia Critic from his review of Cell doing the “be disturbed” thing.”
“I absolutely adore “The Human Centipede: First Sequence” and the character of Dr. Heiter. It’s probably one of my all time favorite movies and I watch it often. I don’t understand why people think it’s so horrible! In my opinion, the second one is much worse.”
“I’m obsessed with horror movies. I decided to save “The Exorcist” for my birthday because I thought it might be the only movie to scare me, but I feel like it’s kind of overrated, and one of the least scary movies I’ve seen from the 70s”
“Something I don’t understand is how everyone dislikes the new Texas Chainsaw. Most people say it’s because it makes Leatherface appear as an anti hero and that we are supposed to sympathize for him because of this movie. But if you look back at some of thd more loved characters that are killers they each have an air of sympathy. Based on Freddy’s dead you find Freddy went bat shit when they took his kid. With Jason it was that they killed his mother and let him drown. ”
“Most of my friends think I’m crazy for not hating all the killers from Horror movies, but I can’t bring myself to dislike them. Take Freddy Krueger for example, sure he kills kids, but only because the police took his daughter away. Even at the end of ‘Freddy’s Dead’ he told Catherine that he loved her and tried to be a good Father. I know he’s bad now, but only because of that. I could never hate someone that went through something like that.”
“I feel like music really makes a slasher movie. Without Harry Manfredini’s musical score, the ending scene of “Friday the 13th” wouldn’t have worked as well on audiences.”
“I think Michael’s story should have ended with the original Halloween II and the sequels should have been a different Halloween story.”
“I wish more people knew about classic British PIFs like The Finishing Line and Apaches. It’s a bit of a weird genre, but they can be pretty terrifying, especially when you consider that they were shown to children. The end of The Finishing Line still haunts me every time.”
“Dark Skies was one of the least scary ‘scary’ movies I’ve ever seen. And I’m terrified of alien abduction!”
My final project on the evolution of Disney from my film class last semester.
I know it’s the complete opposite of horror but it took me 17 hours and a lot of sweat and tears and basically my soul and I’m really proud of it so I thought I’d share for anyone who wants to check it out.
(If you don’t want to watch the whole 9 minutes just go to 7:50 and watch till the end the whole ending medley is the best part in my opinion)
